Lee Mercantile Company was founded by Henry David Lee in 1889, when Lee opened his first garment factory in Salina, Kansas, producing dungarees and jackets.

In 1913, the Union-All work jumpsuit was created, followed by the first ever 'Overall' in 1920 which laid Lee's foundation for further growth. Also in 1920, the Buddy Lee doll was launched for promotional use, but quickly became a popular play doll. Through the 20s, Lee introduced many new innovations to manufactured denim, most notably the zipper fly. Throughout the 30s and 40s Lee continued to build on their brand, becoming the nation's number one manufacturer of work clothes.

Rocky Mountain Featherbed (RMFB) was founded in Jackson, Wyoming, USA in the late 1960's. It became known for its invention of the cold weather vest with leather yoke. A jacket was then launched in 1974 and the brand made great progress not only as cowboy gear but as a sports brand too of high quality and unseen luxury finishes. The brand disappeared in the early 1980's until a Japanese vintage collector revived the brand, bringing back the essence of quality and luxury. The brand was relaunched in 2005 and maintains the original traditions.

Studio D’Artisan has been producing denim of the highest order since 1979. The original architect of vintage denim production using disused shuttle looms, Studio D’Artisan is one of the worlds finest Japanese denim producers.

Products are designed in Osaka whilst the production takes place in the Okayama prefecture, the traditional cotton weaving area famous for its indigo dying and denim production.

Studio D’artisan as a brand is defined by the pig (buta), finding its way into the designs of all products with an element of humour.

Following a secondment in Kojima learning the denim trade, William brought back his experience and created the brand calling on the traditional skill set of the British craftsmen. Tender has its roots in antique workwear and machinary, especially from the Great British Steam Age. The important face of Tender is the nurture which is put into the clothes; in their research, design, manufacture and wear. Tender products are designed to be worn hard but respect of the strong provenance and stories that are found within the garment.
